Victoria "Vicky" Medina

Victoria “Vicky” Medina (nee Hernandez), passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the age of 86 years.   She was born in Crystal City, Texas on November 8, 1937 to Felipe and Francisca (nee: Gonzales) Hernandez.  On December 15, 1956 she married her beloved husband Jose “Joe” Medina and they spent 64 years together. Vicky loved going to church and music.  She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, served as secretary and president of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Society and was an altar server.  Her dedication was to pray the rosary every day. Vicky retired from Generac Corporation where she worked for 27 years.  She enjoyed traveling with Jose and the many many adventures they shared.

She is lovingly survived by her children, San Juana (Roberto) Gonzalez, Oscar (Jennifer) Medina, Alfred Medina, Mary Sylvia Dischler, George Medina, Angelina (Carlos) Conchi, Carlos Medina, daughter-in-law Yolanda Medina, 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  She is further survived by her sisters Theresa (Gregorio) Sandoval, Rosa Aquilar, sisters-in-law, Norma Hernandez, Rebecca Martinez and brothers-in-law Francisco Martinez and Ignacio Aguirre, many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband Jose “Joe” who died on October 24, 2020, her son Rev. Joe Medina, granddaughter Priscilla Medina,  great grandson Nathaniel Medina, and siblings Sulema (Gabriel) Diaz, Francisca Aguirre, Tomas Hernandez, Guadalupe (Lillie) Hernandez, Maria Martinez, Rogelio and Juan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9:30 AM until the 12:00 noon Funeral Mass at St Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave Waukesha, WI 53186.  The rosary will be prayed at 11:30 AM.  Interment will follow at St.Joseph Cemetery.
