Delafield

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Tom (Thomas) Nelson after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved children. Tom was a man of great strength, wisdom, and integrity. He lived a life of service to both his profession and his family. He was the devoted husband to his wife of -49 years Beth, and the loving father to his children Megan (Mark) Grundtner and Colin Nelson. Tom was the proud grandfather of Aeden, Owen, Ivy and Rowan. His time with them was precious. He enjoyed going on hikes, feeding the birds in his backyard and watching his grandchildren's many activities and sporting events.

Tom was not a man to seek accolades but will be remembered for the tremendous impact he had on both his family and pediatric pharmacy. His career spanned a remarkable 40 years and during that time his passion for pediatric pharmacy never wavered. His life and legacy will be remembered for his extraordinary commitment to caring for and about children. He combined clinical excellence with genuine compassion, recognizing that every medication decision had the potential to improve the life of a child and provide hope to a family.

His legacy extends far beyond the patients he served. As a preceptor and mentor, he shaped the careers of countless pharmacy students and residents, sharing not only his knowledge and expertise but also his commitment to patient-centered care, professionalism, and lifelong learning. The lessons he taught continue to be present in the many pharmacists he helped develop, mentor, challenge and inspire, creating a lasting ripple effect across generations of healthcare providers.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Eugene and Bernadine Nelson.

In keeping with Tom's wishes, there will not be a service honoring his life. Know that Tom was grateful for his life and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the family. They would like to establish a fund to benefit others in his honor.

Rest easy Dad, we love you. You are free to run amongst the angels.
