Teresa Rico Perez

Teresa Rico Perez of Waukesha passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on December 8, 2025. She was born in Camaguey, Cuba, the daughter of Jose Rico San Martin and Maria Luisa Barrios. On June 1, 1961, she married her beloved husband, Enrique Perez, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2000.

Teresa was a vibrant spirit who filled her life with joy through her passions, including dancing, a love for music, and playing cards. Her deep faith in God guided her throughout her life, and she found delight in “galivanting” around and shopping at Chico’s. Above all, Teresa dedicated herself to her family, putting her children first, and will be remembered for her elegance, class, and endless unconditional love and generosity.

She is survived by her six loving children: Maria (George) Wysocki, Elena (Robert Yaeger) Perez, Jose Enrique Perez, Kathleen (Johnny Smokovich) Perez, Marilyn (Bill) Toshner, and Jacqueline (Tony) Scaffido. Teresa also leaves behind her 15 cherished grandchildren: Julie (Tyler) Corey, Nicholas Wysocki, Cassidy Pagels, Madison Pagels, Olivia Oberburner, Molly Oberburner, Isabel Perez, Violet Perez, Ryan Szewczyk, Coli Szewczyk, Lilly Toshner, Tori Toshner, Gabi Scaffido, Jacob Scaffido, and Lexi Scaffido, along with great-grandchildren Kaylie, Hadley, Kitana, Havana, and Raiden. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband Enrique and parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Services and entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery will be private for the immediate family. Teresa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
