Susan L. Link died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2026. She was born in Waukesha to Lyle and Marion (nee: Ellarson) Link on October 30, 1948.
Susan grew up in a large family in rural Waukesha. She spent time living in Beloit, Racine, Camp Lake and Waukesha. Susan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in accounting. She worked for many industries including Ray-O-Vac, J I Case Company, Surgitek and All Saints Health Care. Susan was an accomplished seamstress that enjoyed a creative project and also was an avid knitter. She had a passion for horses and equestrian sports. She enjoyed spending her time with many great friends in the horse world and took an opportunity to live on and manage a professional dressage facility in Camp Lake. Before fully retiring, Susan returned to Waukesha to care for her parents in their senior years. Susan loved her cats, especially Max and Randy, and her forever faithful dog Kodi who will lay with her in peace.
Susan will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rachel (Daniel Kasdorf) Blado and Emily (Martin) Slotwinski and grandchildren Callan and Nadia Slotwinski. She is further survived by her sisters, Jeanne (David Smith) Link, Betsy Wolf, Sally (Michael) Fritzche, Nancy Link, Carolyn Link, Leslie (Rick) Paulus and sister-in-law Anne Link. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Marion Link, brother, Allen Link and brother-in-law Lowell Wolf.
Natural burial will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 S. Prairie Avenue Waukesha, WI 53186 at 12:00 pm. Please meet at the cemetery office. Celebration of life to follow at the Riverwalk Apartment Club House at 806 Riverwalk Drive, Waukesha.
