Sharon J. Mantel, age 81, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and her cherished little Yorkie, Tinker Bell.
Sharon was born on August 21, 1944, in Oconto, Wisconsin, to the late Lorraine and Wally Dawursk. She was the youngest of four children.
Sharon was a dedicated employee of Briggs & Stratton, where she proudly worked as a pieceworker for 31 years before retiring in 2005. She took great pride in her work and the many friendships she made throughout her career. She was also a talented crocheter who enjoyed teaching others and passing down her craft to future generations.
Sharon had a lifelong love of dancing and often shared stories from her younger days as a Go-Go dancer. Those memories always brought smiles and laughter to those around her. She enjoyed puttering around the house, often relocating things and keeping everyone guessing where they might turn up next. She especially looked forward to her Wednesday gatherings with her sisters, Tina and Carol, and her cousin Shelly, where they enjoyed catching up over a shared can of Bud Light. She also enjoyed sipping a Grand Marnier with a splash of 7UP while visiting with family and friends. Sharon had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome through conversation, laughter, and kindness.
Above all, Sharon loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Sharon will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her generous heart, her warm and beautiful smile, and the gentle kindness she shared with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine and Wally Dawursk; her sister, Nancy Wurm; and her husband, Robert Mantel.
She is lovingly survived by her cherished Yorkie, Tinker Bell; her sisters, Tina Chause and Carol Hagness; her four children; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three beloved grand dogs.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Reeves, and her husband, Dennis; grandchildren Brandon Snyder, father of Sada, Kamera, and Dante; James Montgomery, father of Hayden and Valena; and Alisha Danning, mother of Michael. They also shared their home with grand dog, Draco.
She is also survived by her daughter, Kristina Thompson, and her children: Gina Liskowitz and her husband, Ted, parents of Madison and Kaylee; Tasha Greene, mother of Dakota; Josh Hintz; and Austin Thompson and his wife, Keanna, parents of Isabella, Rowen, and Nolan ("Little Bob"). They also have grand dog, Lilly.
She is survived by her daughter, Gina Farina, and her husband, Brent; their son, Jackson; and grand dog, Rex.
She is also survived by her son, Scot Fischer, and his wife, Christy; their sons, Bryson, Trenton, and Derek; and great-granddaughter, Mila.
Sharon also leaves behind her best friend, Richard Zweigler; her beloved cousin, Shelly Pasdera; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Hospice ProHealth for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided during Sharon's final days.
