Rose G. Mann

March 1, 1934 — May 13, 2026

Waukesha

Rose G. Mann (nee Schenk) was called to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the age of 92. Rose was born on March 1, 1934 to the late Otto and Hermine Schenk in Wauwatosa. She was baptized, attended grade school, and was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church located at 60th and Lloyd in Milwaukee. Rose attended high school at Lutheran High School and graduated in May of 1951. She then pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She attended Milwaukee Hospital and graduated in January of 1955 with 16 other nurses. Rose met her husband, Donald Mann, while in grade school. The high school and college years took them in different directions until they realized they had many friends in common. They were married on December 27,1958 and were married for 56 years until Don was called home to heaven. Together they welcomed 4 children-Richard, Linda, Carol, and David. Rose continued to use her nursing skills by working for the Waukesha County Health Department at the immunization clinics. She would say to people later, “I shot a lot of people!” We would always have to clarify that she was referring to the immunization shots! She built many lasting friendships with the other nurses and staff that she worked with at those clinics. Rose was a loving and Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an active and longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Rose enjoyed her family and friends, quilting, watching Wisconsin sports teams, and especially cheering for the Packers!

She is survived by her brother, Otto (Marion) Schenk of New Ulm MN; her children, Rick (Dori) Mann of Waukesha, WI, Linda (Kelly) Voigt of Dowelltown TN, Carol (Ross) Heyn of Penryn, CA, and David (Susan) Mann of Hartland, WI; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lois Thatcher; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Hermine Schenk and her husband Don Mann.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on Greenland at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc, as well as the Agrace Hospice staff for the exceptional and loving care given to our mom over the past year.
