Robert “Bob” Lidwin, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 75.
Bob was born on June 21, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1969 and went on to build a long and successful career in the paint and coatings industry. Throughout his professional life, he was widely respected for his leadership and involvement in the field, serving as a three-term president of the Wisconsin Paint and Coatings Association.
He married his loving and caring wife, Nancy, on July 4th, 1990. It was a simple occasion shared with friends and family in their backyard. Over the years, they took many trips to Branson, enjoying the shows and activities. They hiked a number of the county and state parks, taking in the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoors.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1970-1972 and was a lifetime member of the American Legion, serving on the honor guard and as 1st Sergeant at Arms of Post 8 and coordinating the American Legion Americanism Scholarship.
In his younger years, Bob was a founding member and the 1981 Charter President of the Greenfield Jaycees, an organization that reflected both his strong community involvement and outgoing personality. He valued the friendships and connections formed through the group.
Outside of work, Bob enjoyed a wide range of interests and hobbies. He was an avid runner and enjoyed fencing, cross-country skiing, camping, fly fishing, and collecting and watching movies. He was deeply interested in politics and current events and was never shy about sharing his perspective. Bob also volunteered at Milwaukee PrideFest over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, William Lidwin; stepson, Timothy Baldwin (Heather Peterson); stepdaughter, Heather Weast (Jack Weast); grandchildren, Hailey Baldwin and Colin Peterson; sister, Rosemary Wojcinski (Michael Wojcinski); and brother, Phillip Lidwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Theresa Lidwin, and by his son, Paul Lidwin.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Full Military Honors will follow the visitation at 1:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to Alzheimer’s Disease Research (https://brightfocus.org/StopAD) or Brighton Hospice, 300 Executive Dr, Suite 110, Brookfield, WI 53005.
