Robert “Bob” Meganck entered into the fullness of Eternal Life on November 19, 2025 at the age of 95. A resident of Pewaukee, WI, and former resident of Greenfield, WI, Bob was raised in Prairie du Chien, WI.
Beloved husband of Carol (née Schaefer). Devoted father of Susan Meganck, Sharon (Jeff) Watts, Sandra (Greg) Pochowski, and Scott (Erica) Meganck. Proud grandfather of Bobby (Stephanie), Leigh Ann (Ben), Jeffrey, Mark (Steven), Michele, David (Dynnie), Hans, and Willem. Cherished great-grandfather of Samuel and Caroline.
Before heading off to serve his country, Bob met the love of his life, Carol, beginning a lifelong partnership built on deep faith, devotion, and laughter. Married for 71 years, their enduring love and mutual respect were an inspiration to all who knew them. Together they built a family grounded in kindness, integrity, and love — a legacy that will live on through generations.
Bob honorably served his country as a decorated combat veteran with the 3rd Infantry Division of the United States Army, earning the Bronze Star for his service in Korea. His deep love for his country was evident throughout his life — in his military service, his lifelong respect for fellow veterans, and his unwavering patriotism. He was a Past Commander of both the Alonzo Cudworth American Legion Post #23 in Milwaukee, WI, and the OP-18 of the 3rd Infantry Division of Wisconsin. Bob dedicated much of his professional life to Wisconsin Energies Company and retired from Wisconsin Gas Company.
Deeply committed to community service, Bob volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, served as a Little League manager, and was active with Catholic Family Life Insurance and various senior citizen groups. He also supported veterans as a volunteer with Vets Place Central of Milwaukee, helping with rehabilitation programs.
A faithful member of St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, Bob was admired for his positive spirit, generosity, and love of life — a true role model for all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1st from 9:30 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral Mass at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Ave (Hwy SS) Pewaukee, WI 53072. Private entombment with full military honors will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
