Paul Francis Johnson

Paul Francis Johnson, age 43, of Waukesha, Wisconsin died July 20, 2025 after a short but hard-fought battle with an inconceivably rare and aggressive cancer, dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma, with his loving wife Elizabeth (Liz) by his side. Paul is survived by his wife of 16 years, Liz, daughters Nora (11) and Katherine (Kate, 6), parents Don and Merodie Johnson, sister Andrea Johnson, father-in-law and mother-in-law Mike and Trish Drew, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Kelly Drew, nieces Madeline and Collins Drew, and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Joanna Johnson and James and Margaret Mankey, uncles Michael Mankey and Jack Huber, aunt Molly Mankey, and aunt and godmother Diane Mankey.

Paul attended Totino-Grace High School in Minnesota before attending St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin where he majored in sociology and communications. He also attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earning a masters degree in anthropology with a concentration in museum studies. Paul most recently worked for Rockwell Automation as the Customer Experience Center Project Manager at Headquarters for eight years. He also served on the Corpus Christi Parish School Athletic Board and helped coach his daughter Nora’s basketball teams. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball and golf, coaching and attending his children’s various activities, traveling, especially to Door County, and spending time with his family and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. John Charlson and the medical oncology team at Froedtert Hospital/Medical College of Wisconsin, and the medical oncology and radiation oncology teams at the Mayo Clinic for their care of Paul.

Paul, you fought hard even though it was not a fair fight. We are so proud of you. We will love you forever and miss you always.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at 12:00 noon all at Corpus Christi Parish-St. Mary Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Paul Johnson Memorial Fund in support of Corpus Christi Parish School Athletics or the Justin C. Kausch Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Norbert College.
