Nestor E. Hinojosa Jr., of Waukesha, died on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 73. He was born in Kingsville, TX, on December 19, 1952, the son of Nestor and Veda (nee Vela) Hinojosa. He graduated from Clovis High School in Fresno, CA and received his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Fresno City College and his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wright State University in Ohio. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. On October 1, 1974 he married the former Joyce Reed at Scott AFB in Illinois.
Nestor was a passionate volunteer for many organizations including Girl Scout Leader, Junior Achievement Advisor, Little League Coach, grill master at military outings and utilized his woodworking skills for various organizations. His hobbies included archery, fishing, hunting, photography and travel.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Joyce, along with their son Diego (Cassie) Hinojosa; his siblings Tito (Gloria) Hinojosa, Nelda Hinojosa, Diana Hinojosa and Elizabeth Cantu. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and her husband Ella (Eloy) Zuniga.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 2016 Center Rd. Waukesha, WI 53189 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with military honors beginning at 2:30 p.m. followed by the prayer service. Memorial’s are appreciated to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
