Michael Joseph Walsh, 55, beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, salesman, comedian, community watchdog, professional stirrer of the pot and Car Dealer Eye Candy, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Born on January 7, 1971, in Waukesha, WI, Mike was raised by Edward and Mary (Mitzi) Walsh. After graduating from Waukesha North High School, he started a career doing what he loved, selling cars. Mike honed his skills in the craft as a child by selling soda out of his parent’s fridge to his friends along with much needed neighborhood insurance policies. He even sold tickets to see his sister Kathy’s blood from a spear that punctured her head. Mike held management positions for much of his career, always putting his salesmen first. During the past year, Mike took a step down and went back in the trenches and simply sold vehicles. As much success as Mike had in the automobile industry, that is not what defined him as a person. Mike was a bigger character than most anyone who has walked the dirt under our feet. Always with a joke, especially at the times most would find inappropriate, he made everyone laugh. Mike’s sense of humor will be missed. He was also very involved in local issues, always being willing to say what others think but are afraid to say. Not one to back down, Mike looked for ways to make a difference. There are other things that could be mentioned about Mike but this would turn into a book. Everyone he touched will miss him and tell stories about “that guy” they used to know.
Mike was preceded in death by both of his previously mentioned parents and is survived by his wife of 30 years Verna (Nicole) Walsh, son Joseph (Joey) Walsh, his brother Sean (Lynn) Walsh and sister Kathy Chambers, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 11 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at Bridge Church located at 1314 S Grand Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186. Come share in “Mike Stories” and celebrate a one of a kind. BBQ dinner will be served, because that is what Mike would have wanted if he could be there himself.
In lieu of flowers, if anyone would like to make a donation in Mike’s name, please consider Custom Canines Service Dog Academy. 2310 Mustang Way, Madison, WI 53718
