Michael D. Hendrickson

Michael “Mickey” D. Hendrickson, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026 with his family by his side, and his wife holding his hand. A lifelong Waukesha resident, he was born on May 24,1946 to Leslie and IdaBelle (n Cornell) Hendrickson. He was a 1965 graduate of Waukesha High School. Mickey was a dedicated coin and stamp collector who took great pride in his collection. He was past union president for AFSCME council 40 and past president of the Waukesha Jaycee’s. He and his wife Sandra served as longtime foster parents, welcoming several boys into their home.

He will be missed by his loving wife, Sandra (nee: Toycen) Hendrickson and son Troy (Kim Stair) Hendrickson; daughter-in-law Elizabeth “Beth” Hendrickson and two grandsons Joel and Cash Hendrickson. Mickey was further survived by his sister Dr. LeeAnn Weitekamp, his mother-in-law Esther Congdon, sisters-in-law Linda (Joel) Harris, Diane Brady, nieces Dr. Lesley (David) Hetterscheidt, Dr. Ashley (Tim) Feehan, Kelsey (Cody) Frew, Jamie Jane Harris and nephew Conor Brady,  bonus sons Ali, Romel and Mario and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Scott Michael Hendrickson on October 8, 2022.

Visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street Waukesha, WI 53186 from 10:30 AM until the 12:00 PM (Noon) memorial service.
