Michael “Mike” “Gum” E. Frank a lifelong Waukesha resident passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at the age of 68. He was born in Waukesha on November 15, 1957 the son of Willard and Dorothy (nee Katzner) Frank. Mike loved sports, especially the Packers and Badgers, watching old movies and listening to 50’s and 60’s music. He also found enjoyment in writing screenplays. He loved his family and cherished his nieces and nephews who called him “Gum” (Groovy Uncle Mike).
He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Diane (Ron) Willgrubs, Willard (Jan) Frank Jr., Karen (Dan) Richards, Kathleen (Doug) Banaszak, James Frank, Harry (Cindy) Frank, and John (Barbara) Frank; and sisters-in-law Anna Frank and Patricia Frank. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Melvin (Vicki) Frank, Margaret (Ray) Wilcox, Jerry Frank, Jack (Joyce) Frank and Robert Frank.
A private service will be held for the immediate family with burial at Prairie Home Cemetery. A celebration of Mike’s life will take place at a later date. Memorials in his name are appreciated to the Salvation Army.
