Mark P. Schirripa, age 64, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026. He left behind a legacy of legendary homemade Italian wine, great music, and a family who will never look at a bingo card the same way again. Mark didn’t just love his Italian heritage; he embraced it a 100% in everything he did, transforming his life and his home into a beautiful, sun-drenched slice of Italy. Before building his Italian paradise, Mark proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as an E5 Petty Officer 2nd class. He then worked 21 years at Husco Int’l, where he met Sherry, the love of his life. Mark also served as the board member for the 43rd Bomb Group.

Mark was a man of many talents. To step into his house, inside or out, was to step straight into Italy. Complete with a stunning grape arbor that looked plucked right out of the Old Country, his home was a testament to his talents. It was there that he kept the family traditions alive, growing his own grapes, masterfully crushing them to make wine in the true, time-honored Italian tradition. He poured that same love into his magnificent garden and into his kitchen, where he was a magician with homemade pasta and sauce.

Mark was far more than a classic Italian craftsman. He also was the ultimate entertainer. A man of eclectic and unapologetic musical tastes, he was just as likely to be found listening to a sweeping Italian opera as he was to blasting oldies rock and roll. He had a special fondness for Puccini operas, Dean Martin, and Connie Frances. In the daytime his radio pounded oldies rock around the house and at night, after dinner, he relaxed to opera. His legendary karaoke parties, held in his1950s family room, are etched into family history, featuring Mark center stage, proudly rocking his signature Charlie Sheen shirt, and belting out Johnny Cash songs with absolute conviction.

He was the heartbeat of every family gathering, arriving with the vintage family bingo game tucked under his arm. He took his role as master of ceremonies seriously, turning every holiday into a high-stakes, hot, and hilariously intense family bingo session that no one wanted to miss.

Family was everything to Mark. From his wife, Sherry, to his son, Christopher, to his sisters, his brothers-in-law, friends, and his many nieces and nephews, Mark was all about being surrounded by those whom he loved heart and soul. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Xuhong Zhao (Sherry); his son Christopher (Angela) Aldrich; his sisters Patti (Joe) Wilbur, Michele (Rick) Sowinski, Heidi (Gilbert) Lopez, and Marianne (Dennis) Kasmarick, his nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, and his beloved dog, Vinny. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Geneva (Mie-Rau) Schirripa and his nephew, Michael Lopez.
