Marion R. Chapman a lifelong Waukesha resident passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 95. She was born in Waukesha on December 12, 1929 to William and Ruth Lamp. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1948 and was a legal secretary her entire working career, starting at Lowry & Hunter after graduation; for David L. Dancey when he was District Attorney, in private law practice for 22 years for Attorney Clayton A. Cramer and finally at Waukesha State Bank Trust Department, retiring from the bank in 1994. Marion enjoyed gardening, walking at the YWCA and at Frame Park, lunches with the retirement gals and live theater. She was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha where she belonged to the PSW Group and was an avid volunteer.
She will be sadly missed by her nephew-in-law Jay Dumont of Portland, OR, grandniece Sarah Dumont, grandnephew Jason Dumont; cousin Helen Pfilf of California, dear friend Martha Odegard and her family, and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Al (Rosa) Lamp, niece Terri Schmidt, cousin Betty Edwards and longtime family friend Meg Bauer.
Visitation will take place on Monday, September, 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery and a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
