Margaret “Peggy” Ann Butt (née Majewski)

Peggy passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Born on July 15, 1953, in Waukesha to Joseph and Alice Majewski, Peggy spent her entire life in the city she adored. Remarkably, she lived on the same street for her whole life, in homes built by her grandfather, Fred Torhorst.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls with a degree in Food Science, Peggy began a long and fulfilling career as a Quality Assurance Administrator in food manufacturing. She was admired and respected by colleagues across the industry and built countless friendships that lasted well beyond the workplace.

For those who knew her, Peggy will always be remembered for her bright blue eyes, her big smile, her infectious laugh, and the optimism she carried with her - always choosing to look on the bright side of life.

She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, who were her faithful companions and a constant source of happiness. Peggy was passionate about dog rescue and always welcomed her dogs with an open heart. Whether she was taking them walking, swimming, or working on agility, Peggy and her dogs were inseparable.

She also gave her time generously to her community. Peggy was a dedicated volunteer with the Waukesha Express Swim Team, where she ran the timing system at swim meets for many years. And when it came to baseball, Peggy’s love for the Milwaukee Brewers was unmatched. From spring training to the postseason, she was one of their biggest fans cheering them on from home or in the stands.

Peggy is survived by her beloved dog, Jemma; her sister, Jane Martin, with her husband, Paul, and their daughters, Clair and Keely; her son, Jeff Majewski, his daughters, and her cherished granddaughters, Izabella and Eliza, and his partner, Angy; Angy’s daughters, Brooke and Kendall; and her daughter, Amy Majewski, together with her partner, Kegan, and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice; her nephew, Joe; and the many dogs she loved so dearly over the years.

The family wishes to thank the many friends who stood by Peggy throughout her life and extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, whose exceptional care and kindness meant so much in her final days.

Peggy will be laid to rest at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha, alongside her parents and family. While no formal services will be held, the family invites everyone to honor Peggy in the way she would have loved best by gathering with loved ones to cheer on the Brewers (tailgate encouraged!) or by heading to Mary’s 5 O’Clock Club on Pewaukee Lake for a Friday fish fry and a brandy old fashioned sour with olives.

In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Peggy’s memory with a gift to the Brewers Community Foundation, HAWS of Waukesha County, or by supporting your local animal rescue so another pet can find its forever home.
