Laura McCarthy age 52 of Waukesha went home to our Lord on June 8, 2026 after a long hard journey in life. During the last days of her life, she was surrounded by all those who loved her deeply. She was the beloved daughter of Kathleen Wojtkiewicz, devoted sister of Jeffrey (Gabby) Wojtkiewicz and loving aunt of Jonah and Clara. She was preceded in death by her father James, aunt Grace, nephews Landon and Brady and her beloved grandparents. Laura is also lovingly remembered by her aunt, uncle, devoted cousins and numerous friends. She was born in Wauwatosa, WI and graduated from Waukesha South High School.
Laura was an angel here on earth. Her life was not easy but she never complained. Those who knew her were inspired by her positive, appreciative and grateful attitude. She was a quiet, sweet gentle, and courageous soul as the light of God showed through her. Laura always thought of others first and was kind, generous and helpful even though her own life was difficult. Laura was extremely brilliant, very artistic, a great baker, and a prolific writer. She loved to volunteer, attend Bible studies and groups, and spend time with her mother and family. Her main passion and interest were visiting and feeding the ducks. She named them all and especially cared for a one-legged duck she named Trooper. Many people referred to Laura as "Mama duck!" Most of all she was so caring and thoughtful of others. People who knew Laura mentioned she is the embodiment of genuine goodness. Our angel here on earth is now exalted in our Eternal Home in Heaven.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. John Dang for his exceptional and compassionate care during Laura’s life. His dedication and kindness provided comfort and support during difficult times.
Laura L. McCarthy’s legacy is one of unconditional love, incredible generosity, and unwavering strength. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and all who were fortunate to know her.
