WAUKESHA - Kenneth H. Splitt, age 79, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his Waukesha home. He was born on April 8, 1928 in Clintonville, WI the only child of Ted and Helen (nee: Beckman) Splitt. On July 30, 1955 he married the former Loisann Herbst in Waukesha. Ken proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1951-1952. He had worked at Waukesha Bearings for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He rode his bike to work every day. He played the steel guitar in several bands around Waukesha and was a member of Musicians Local Union #193 in Waukesha. Ken loved to play golf and had golfed for his last time three weeks ago. He unselfishly donated 168 pints of blood. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Loisann of Waukesha along with nieces and nephews Conrad (Lori) Herbst of Delafield, Jan (Harry) Farber of Pewaukee, Marlys (Pat) Herbst of Waukesha, Scott (Sheila) Herbst of Oconomowoc and the late Steven (Kathy) Herbst of New Berlin. He is further survived by great nieces Kathleen Herbst of Kansas City, MO and Kellie Herbst of Brookfield, brothers-in-law Alex Herbst of Hartland and Gene (Marge) Herbst of Waukesha, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his nephew Steven in 2006. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 10th from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. memorial service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery at a later date.
