John E. Schilz passed away to Eternal life on Dec. 10, 2016 at age 85.
Beloved husband of 66 years to Carol (nee Marriott). Loving father to Gery (Kari), Ronald (Jenny), Richard (Jody), Kenneth (Debbie), Patricia (Kevin Schumacher) and Robert (Debbie). Proud grandpa of Scott, Anton, Cassidy, Nolan, Anders, Luke, Dustin, Nicholas, Colin, Brent, Natalie, Drake and Bryce. Loving great grandpa of Ava, Nora, Stella, Zoey, Max and Emma. Brother of Ruth Ann (Jim) Miller. Preceded in death by his parents John and Rose (Lang).
After graduating from Messmer High School, John served in the US Army in Austria during the Korean War, then joined the Milwaukee Police Dept. After 36 1/2 years he retired and moved to Hazelhurst, WI where he enjoyed making fishing baits. He built many garages for his friends and fellow workers. A special thank you to Myron & Becky Doman and Ron & Darleen Eckes for their help over the years and to the compassionate staff at Seasons Hospice.
In honor of John's request, no services will be held. In John's memory, donations can be made to American Legion Post 318, Box 318, Lake Tomahawk, WI 54539.
