Jerry A Hughlett

Jerry A. Hughlett, age 84, of Waukesha, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026. He was born in Oconomowoc on May 3,1942 to James and Evelyn (nee: West) Hughlett. Jerry proudly served his country in the Air National Guard. On October 23,1965 he married Joan Thronson. Jerry and Joan were longtime members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Waukesha.

Jerry embraced life’s simple pleasures and treasured time spent doing the things he loved. He was a devoted Milwaukee Brewers fan who loved cheering on his favorite team. He enjoyed bowling, camping, golfing and spending time outdoors, especially birdwatching and keeping the birds well-fed. He found enjoyment in assembling jigsaw puzzles and researching family history through genealogy. Jerry will be remembered for his gentle nature and the joy he found spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Joan Hughlett and their two daughters, Mary (Mark) Leipski and Jill (Brian) Wirth. He was the proud grandfather of Ashley Leipski, Justin Leipski, Brennan Wirth and Kaelyn Wirth. He is further survived by his brother David Hughlett.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31,2026 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1205 S. East Avenue Waukesha, WI 53186, from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (address above) or HAWS of Waukesha County,701 Northview Road Waukesha, WI 53188.
