Jerome Elmer Stein passed away peacefully Friday, December 5, 2025 surrounded by family in Grafton, aged 94. He was born in Milwaukee on February 20, 1931 to parents Elmer William and Agnes (nee Peterson) Stein. Jerome served our country in the Army for three years, spending his time in Korea. He was married to his wife Julia for 69 years who preceded him in death on October 1, 2025. Jerome and Julia were involved members at church, Jerome serving there as one of the Elders. A hard worker, he worked as an electrician for Eaton and owned and operated his own business. He also enjoyed hunting deer and turkeys, hunting well into his 80s. Jerome was also a Mason – serving as The Cookie Monster for their parades.
He is survived by his loving children Jim (Laurel) Stein and Jeff Stein; brother Neil Stein; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Jerome is preceded in death by his wife Julia (nee Fenney) Stein; brother Russel Stein; grandson-in-law Jeff Howard; step-sons Delbert and Vernon Shelley, and parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. funeral service and military honors at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005. Jerome will be entombed following the service, with a luncheon to follow.
