Janet Mary Sullivan

Janet Mary Sullivan (nee Gundrum) of Waukesha passed way on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 83. She was born in Watertown, WI on November 28, 1942 the daughter of Wilfred and Gertrude (nee Wild) Gundrum. Growing up, Janet enjoyed caring for her younger siblings, taking them shopping and to their appointments and introducing them to activities like tennis, biking and camping. She had a passion for singing from a young age and her siblings will never forget her and her sister singing while doing the dishes. Janet sang in many different choirs throughout her life including the Sweet Adelines. She was very patriotic and a devout Catholic. After meeting and marrying her husband, James Sullivan in 1984, she shared his passion for ethnic dance and other ethnic activities. They often shared the same words together “On the way to forever together”. They are now truly forever together and will be greatly missed.

She is survived and loved by her 9 brothers and sisters, Barbara (Ray) Last, Michael (Sue) Gundrum, Susan Gundrum, Tom (Lynn) Gundrum, Linda (David) Kratzke, Sandra (Frank) Patino, Edward (Sue) Gundrum, Chris Manion, and Tim (Sue) Gundrum. She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted and beloved husband, James Sullivan on December 8, 2025.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral Mass begins at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish-St. William Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188. Private burial will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
