James J. Wickler, of Waukesha, died on Friday, November 28, 2025 at his residence at the age of 87. He was born on May 11, 1938, in Platteville, the son of Myles and Margaret (nee Keough) Wickler. On November 25, 1961 he married Marleen (nee Williams) Wickler at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville. He enjoyed over 35 years of teaching. He was an avid woodworker and had a long fulfilling retirement. Jim had a very active lifestyle of biking, hiking and any outdoor activity.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Marleen of Waukesha, along with their children Michael Wickler of Monterey, CA, Mark (Tina) Wickler of Bensenville, IL and Jayne (Greg) Langer of Wauwatosa. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers John Wickler of Waukesha and Charles (Cathy) Wickler of Waukesha, brothers-in-law Bill (Celeste) Williams of Tucson, AZ and Wendell (Susan) Williams of Mauston, sister-in-law Laura Williams of Chippewa Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Reese, brother Harold Wickler and sister-in-law Sharon Linstrom.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. memorial service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha. Burial will take place at Viola Cemetery. Memorials in Jim’s name are appreciated to Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County, 2020 Springdale Rd.
