Jack Pease

June 24, 1925 — December 25, 2009

Jack W. Pease, age 84 and lifelong resident of Waukesha, died peacefully on Christmas morning, Friday, December 25, 2009 after a courageous eight year battle with lung cancer at home surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 24, 1925 the second son of Edward and Bessie Pease. He worked as a long distance truck driver, tree trimmer for the City of Waukesha Park Board, Waukesha Rubber Company and was a bus driver for 15 years at Wisconsin Coach Lines.  After retiring from Wisconsin Coach Lines, Jack worked for the City of Waukesha Police Department as a school crossing guard at Lowell Elementary School.  He always said he was “a jack of all trades and a master of none”.  He loved to hunt, fish, play cards, read, work in his wood shop and watch the Green Bay Packers.  Jack will be sadly missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Lois.  He was the loving father of Terri (William) Jones of Waukesha, Jeff (Shari) Pease of Thorsby, Alabama, William (Jan) Pease of Waukesha, Scott (Carol) Pease of Pewaukee and Bonnie Vissers Evert of Waukesha.  He was the proud grandpa of Melissa (Jon) Jones Rooney of Waukesha, William L. Jones, II of Waukesha, Amy Pease Jensen, Jessica (Jeremy) Sparkman of Alabama, Lindsay Pease of Alabama, Emily (Dave) Pease Clem of Madison, William D. (Becky) Pease of Fredonia, Sadie (Christian) Pease Villegas of Madison, Daniel Pease of Waukesha, Kori (Mel) Pease Larson of Franklin, Angela (Doug) Fahey Papenthien of Ixonia, Walter Fahey of Pewaukee, Jaclyn Vissers of Waukesha and Joe Vissers of Waukesha.  He was the adoring great-grandpa to Gavin Sparkman, Hayden Jack Clem, Hudson Clem, Jarrett Larson, Landyn Larson, Aubrey Papenthien, Gavin Papenthien, and Bryce Papenthien.  He is further survived by his sisters: Betty Stark of New Berlin, Barbara Reid of Waterford, Bonita (Carl) Riolo of Goleta, California, his sister-in-law Pauline Pease of Bradenton, Florida along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and last but not least his faithful canine companion, Sara.  He was preceded in death by his infant son Gary F. Pease, his granddaughter Lois Marie Pease, grandson Kevin Pease, his brother George Pease, as well as his parents and mother and father-in-law. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Michael Long for his many years of compassionate care and sense of humor, he always could make Dad smile and laugh; Dr. Federico Sanchez who gave Dad the hope he needed to keep up the fight against cancer for so long and to Rolland Nelson Crossroads Hospice for their dedication, compassion, and care during the last month of his life.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 4:00 until the 7:30PM funeral service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin. Please meet at the funeral home at 11:00AM for the procession to the cemetery.  Because Jack was a dog lover all his life, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Jack’s name to HAWS, 701 Northview Road, Waukesha, WI 53188.  For further information, please call Randle-Dable Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services at 262-547-4035 or go to www.waukeshafunerals.com for directions or to leave an online tribute message.
