It is with fond memories, gratitude, and sadness that the family and friends of Hanna M. Agathen announce her unexpected passing on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the age of 20. Born in Waukesha on February 9, 2005, she was the daughter of Larry Agathen and Abbie Kilpatrick.
Hanna was a 2023 graduate of Waukesha North High School and was currently pursuing a business degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she achieved the honor of making the Dean's List. She looked forward to the opportunity of her upcoming internship at Northwestern Mutual.
From a young age, Hanna developed a profound love for horses, taking lessons at Knollwood Farm in Hartland. She remained actively involved at Knollwood, where she showed horses, served as a camp counselor, and worked as barn manager. She also found great joy in volunteering at LifeStriders. Her love for animals also was reflected in her work at the K9 Pet Resort in Brookfield
At the age of 9, she proudly started her own saddle-cleaning business. More recently, she established a successful photography business specializing in horse photography, senior portraits, and showcasing her creative talents.
Hanna's bright spirit and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of passion and hard work will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
She will be sadly and forever missed by her mother Abbie (Kraig) Kilpatrick and her brother William Agathen both of town of Genesee; her aunts and uncles, David (Christi) Kilpatrick, Ann (Gene) Diesen, and Jim (Gail) Kilpatrick. She is also survived by many cousins and numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Larry Agathen, her maternal grandparents Tom and Margaret “Peggy” Kilpatrick.
Private burial services will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial service will be held at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church 207 W. Main Street in Wales July 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon at Thunder Bay Grill N14 W24130 Tower Place, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
Memorials may be made to American Saddlebred Horse Rescue or HAWS.
