Eugene M. Ciechanowski of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the age of 101 years. He was born in Milwaukee on September 16, 1924 to Stanley and Antonina (nee: Klazura) Ciechanowski.
Eugene enjoyed maintenance and upkeep of his home and enjoyed volunteering at his home parish of St Paul’s in Milwaukee. In his earlier years, he enjoyed a good game of chess and together with his brother and two friends, they formed a chess club with monthly matches. Eugene was a fan of both the Brewers and Packers, watching the games on TV and attending in person. The last Brewers game he attended was on Father’s Day at the age of 100 years old. Eugene was employed for many years at Ladish Co in Cudahy until he was transferred in 1978 to the branch in Russellville, ARK. He also lived in Gilbert, AZ and Cedar Park, TX before returning to Waukesha in 2013. Eugene was a longtime member of St Joseph Catholic Church, now Corpus Christi Parish. In 1946 he married his beloved Inez Mary Buccarelli. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2024.
He is loved and survived by his three children Carol Baewer, James (Suzanne) Ciechanowski, Julie (Larry) Brink; grandchildren Amy Steffek, Stephen Ciechanowski, Shauna (John) Detloff, Katrina Ciechanowski and great grandchildren Luke Baewer and Alec Dethloff. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his loving wife of 78 years, Inez Mary, he was preceded in death by his brothers Felix and Edward Ciechanowski and sisters Stella “Connie” Krembs, Mary “Mickey” Marzofka, Cecelia Mikolajczak and Emily Schultz.
Visitation and funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Corpus Christi Parish- St William Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188 from 10:30 AM until the 11:30 AM funeral Mass. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials in Eugene’s name to Corpus Christi Parish- St Joseph Church are appreciated.
