Ellis "Ellie" Hughes

a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the age of 85.  He was born on April 8, 1923 to Ellis B. and Madge (nee:  Heimel) Hughes.  Ellie proudly served his country for 2 ½ years in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He was owner/operator of West St. Paul Garage in Waukesha for many years and was a proud businessman.  He was very involved in the community and belonged to several organizations including:  D.J. Martin American Legion Post #8, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Waukesha Lodge #37, Free & Accepted Masons, Waukesha Commandery #23 K.T., Waukesha Chapter #37, Royal Arch Masons, Waukesha Council #29, Royal & Select Masters and the former Ina J. Reid Chapter #55. O.E.S, which is now LaBelle Chapter #40.  Everyone who knew Ellie knows he always had a kind word to say, a story to share, or a joke to tell.  He will be missed.  He was the father of six, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 4:00 pm until the 6:30 pm Masonic Service and Funeral Service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S.
