Diann Marlene (nee Frohmader) Voigt - July 30, 1939 to September 27, 2023.

Wife to the late Paul Voigt, and life-partner to the late Maynard Thorson.  Survived by her children Scott Voigt, Shawn (Rob) Wagner, and Shannon Voigt.  Step-children Scott (Mary) Thorson, Cheryl Thorson, and Ross (Kris) Thorson.   Grandchildren Amber, Ashley and Heather, and step-grandchildren Chris, Rachel, Nicole and Erika.  Great grandchildren Isabella, Andre and Colette; Marcus, Rowan and Jackson; Adalina and Soni; Step-great grandchildren Emma and Mia and Great-great granddaughter Ivy. Further survived by her sister Joann (Mike) Kloskey, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In addition to her husband Paul, and life-partner Maynard, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Alixandra Wagner in 2014.

Diann was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, on July 30, 1939, the daughter of Harley and Lorraine (nee Waedekin) Frohmader.   She graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1957.  She met her future husband, Paul Voigt while working with his mother at the diner in Elm Grove.  After a short courtship, she married Paul on December 23, 1959.  As a Navy family, they lived in various states including California and Florida. They were blessed with 3 children along the way.  Diann was a homemaker as their children grew; and then she entered the work force and flourished.  She was most proud of working for the City of Waukesha Police Department at the front desk, she retired after 15 years.  Diann was a gifted storyteller, and could keep you mesmerized by her tales, although she tended to embellish to make the story even better.  After 30 years of marriage, Paul passed away on May 31, 1990.  She met Maynard Thorson in 1992, and they were together for 25 years until he passed away on May 28, 2017.  She loved dancing, country music, antiquing, traveling out west, playing sheepshead with friends, and watching WWF wrestling, just to name a few.  She was an intelligent woman, and would always tell us, when she was young, she read the dictionary cover to cover.  She died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Linden Court Memory Care in Waukesha at the age of 84.

We wish to thank the Linden Court Memory Care team for their friendship and care of our mom over the last couple of years.  I know she didn't always show it, but she thought you were all wonderful.

There will be a celebration of life at a time and place to be determined.
