Dennis Tollefson

Dennis Leif Tollefson was born on July 15, 1941 in Madison, WI to Shirley Spencer Tollefson Foll and Leif Tollefson, and passed away in Waukesha, WI on August 21, 2025.

He married his wife of 55 years Sherry Sandman in September of 1969 and they had two sons, Michael and Marc. He had graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in engineering in 1965. He immediately went to work for Waukesha Engine/Dresser, completing his career as Director - Power Systems Engineering, retiring in 2006 after 41 years. After retiring, he was very involved with the Waukesha Engine Historical Society. He loved feeding and watching the many birds in his yard, and was always reading, favoring science fiction. He loved the outdoors and walked almost every day. He also enjoyed movies and playing games online. Dennis was a huge Badger and Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry, son Michael (Angie) Tollefson, son Marc Tollefson, grandchildren Sean, Nick, Miranda, Elisha, and Alex, sisters Nancy Foll and Janis Foll, brother Michael Tollefson, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Sharon Foll and Christine Walsh.

Celebration of Life with visitation will be held Thursday August 28, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Randle Dable Brisk Funeral Home 1110 S. Grand Avenue Waukesha, WI 53186.
