Daniel J. Foley

Daniel J. Foley, who grew up in Big Bend and was a longtime resident of Waukesha, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 78. Dan was born on July 1, 1947, to John J. and Lucille M. (Knurr) Foley. Dan graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1965 and then honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He pursued a long career at RTE Cooper until his retirement at age 62.

Dan was a passionate outdoorsman, finding joy in hunting, fishing in Canada, and snowmobiling. He loved playing cards, bowling, softball, golf, and going to the casino with his friends and family. He also enjoyed driving his Ford Mustang convertible. He cherished the time spent with his beloved granddaughter, Evelyn, who he referred to as “The Girl”. He also had a special affection and love for dogs, especially his granddogs Ahni, Bud, and Lulu.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary (Waite) Foley, his children Melissa (James Tyler) Foley and Matthew (Michelle Herbner) Foley, and his granddaughter Evelyn Foley. Dan is also survived by his siblings, Gary (Karen) Foley and Carol (Dennis) O’Brien, and his sister-in-law Michaelene (the late Bob) Knoebel, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM until a brief service at 1:00 PM at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Following, there will be graveside services with full military honors at 2:00 PM at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Bend. Please meet at the cemetery.
