Clarice Mary Gerbasi died peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the age of 90.
Clarice was born January 24, 1936 in Marquette, Michigan to Francis and Elva (née Davis) Robarge, joining an older brother Leroy. She grew up in Marquette, graduating from Bishop Baraga High School. After high school, Clarice lived in Florida and San Francisco, settling in Milwaukee after meeting her husband, Gene. In spite of living in Wisconsin for 65 years, Clarice always considered herself a Marquette girl.
Clarice worked at the Wisconsin State Crime Lab and sold real estate. Her favorite role, though, was that of Mom and Grandma, and she enjoyed more than 20 years of retirement spending time with her family and volunteering with organizations close to her heart, including ENCORE Breast Cancer Recovery Group.
Clarice will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Gene, children Mike Gerbasi, Michele (Jerry) Gagner, Steve (Crecencia) Gerbasi, Rob (Rachelle) Gerbasi, and Ann Marie (David) Bainbridge. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Katie, Lisa and William Gerbasi, Renee (Daniel Benoit) and Joseph Gagner, Sarah and Vince Gerbasi, Nathan Fisher, Niki and Nellie Gerbasi, Cecilia (Zachary) Goedert, Kelli (Robert Biegalski) Smith, Thomas Smith, Jacob (Natalie Kongable) Bainbridge, Alex (Kayla Le) Bainbridge, and Sean Bainbridge. She will also be missed by her sweet great-granddaughter Evelyn Bainbridge, her brother Leroy (Geraldine) Robarge, niece Eileen Robarge, nephew David (Louise) Robarge, and many friends. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Elva, father- and mother-in-law William and Margaret Gerbasi, and brother-in-law William Gerbasi Jr.
A special thank you to the community at Avalon Square, especially the staff in the Arbor, for their compassionate care and for helping walk Clarice home.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Parish-St. William Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53186. A luncheon will follow. Private entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Corpus Christi Parish or St. Vincent de Paul Society Waukesha would be appreciated.
