Cheryl L. Friel

Cheryl L. Friel, of Merrill, WI, died peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa at the age of 66 years old.  She was born in Illinois on September 19, 1957, the daughter of Raymond and Bernice (nee Haver) Podborny. On July 9, 1977 she married Thomas James Friel, he preceded her in death in January 2019.  She was a very giving, unselfish person who made sure everyone was taken care of - she lived her life for others and loved very deeply.

She will be missed by her sons James (Allison) Friel and Sean (Melissa) Friel; grandchildren Abigail, Clare, Emily and Tommy Friel; her sister Robin (Kurt) Schroeder and her brother Brandon. She is further survived by many other relatives and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband and sister Vivian Bandman.

A private family 'celebration of life' will be held in October.
