Charles “Charlie” W. Boehm of Waukesha passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 64. He was born in Whitefish Bay on January 5, 1962, to Raymond and Joan (née Poulsen) Boehm.
Charlie found peace in the quiet of early mornings, especially on the water before sunrise, where duck hunting became one of the great traditions of his life. First passed down by his father, it remained deeply woven into who he was. At the place he called Duck Island, he found stillness, reflection, and a closeness to God that stayed with him throughout his life. Those mornings reflected the kind of man he was: steady, humble, grateful, and most at peace in the simple gifts God placed before him.
That same quiet strength shaped the way Charlie lived each day. He was hardworking, generous, and never one to seek attention for the good he did. He helped others without hesitation, carried life’s burdens without complaint, and gave everything he had to care for the people he loved. His family always knew they could depend on him because he was constant, dependable, and always there when needed.
One of the greatest blessings of his life began during his freshman year at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where he met Patty (née Gonzalez). Their life together became a 41-year marriage rooted in faith, devotion, and quiet partnership. Through every joy and hardship, they remained deeply devoted to one another, building a family that became Charlie’s greatest source of pride.
Nothing meant more to him than his family. He was deeply proud of his children, William Boehm, Mitchell (Jesse) Boehm, Nina (Miguel) Arreguin, and Mimi Boehm. He loved them deeply, supported them fully, and carried the role of husband, father, and provider with love every day.
Charlie also dedicated 41 years of service to FIS, where he was known for his loyalty, consistency, and strong work ethic. He believed in doing things the right way, showing up every day, and carrying responsibility with quiet strength.
His faith guided him throughout his life, and he was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; his children, William Boehm, Mitchell (Jesse) Boehm, Nina (Miguel) Arreguin, and Mimi Boehm; his grandson, Milan Arreguin; his mother, Joan Boehm; sisters, Julie (Scott) Miller and Sara (Mark) Savage; brother, Rob (Aleta) Boehm; father in law, William “Bill” Gonzalez; sister in law, Lisa Schuster; brother in law, John Gonzalez; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Beau Arreguin; his father, Raymond Boehm; and his mother in law, Darlene Gonzalez.
In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, no formal funeral services or memorial will be held. Family and friends are invited to remember him in their own way, whether by watching the sunrise, sharing a story, offering a prayer, or extending kindness to someone in need.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ducks Unlimited would honor his lifelong love of the outdoors, or to Corpus Christi Parish St. Joseph Renovation Fund, in honor of the faith that guided his life.
Charlie’s love, strength, and quiet example live on through the family he cherished, the values he passed down, and the quiet mornings at Duck Island that meant so much to him.
