Charlene M. Jahnke

Charlene Jahnke of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She was born on January 5, 1939, the beloved daughter of Matt and Grace (nee: Montgomery) Zick. On July 23, 1960, she married the love of her life Myron “Mike” Jahnke. They were able to spend 56 wonderful years of marriage together before Mike passed away on October 30, 2016.

Charlene graduated from Waukesha High School in 1957. In high school she was a member of Jobs Daughters. She and Mike were very faithful members of First Presbyterian Church and later Southminster Presbyterian Church. Charlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed cooking and baking. Charlene and Mike enjoyed entertaining family and friends, traveling around the United States and Europe, playing golf, and bicycling with friends.

She is survived by her beloved sons Robert (Alice Foret) Jahnke of Lisle, Illinois, Richard Jahnke of Tampa Florida, and Ronald (Christine) Jahnke of Waukesha. She was the proud grandmother to Michael (Mandy) Jahnke, Michelle (Zach) Trafton, Jacob Jahnke, Ethan Jahnke, and great-grandson Miles. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Mike.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 12:00 PM at Southminster Presbyterian Church 200 Richard St. Waukesha, WI 53189. Graveside services will follow a funeral procession to Prairie Home Cemetery.
