Caroline “Carrie” Marie Wery died on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, at the age of 74 at LindenGrove Nursing Home in New Berlin, following a lengthy decline and dementia.
Carrie was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, to Melvin and Rita (nee Lauer) Huber on September 2, 1949, and graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1967. She married Richard Elias in 1970; they divorced 23 years later. She remarried in 2001 to Calvin Wery and enjoyed a country home in Green Lake before returning to Waukesha. She was widowed in March of 2008. She was employed by Schoeneck Containers, Inc. for 20 years and later held a part-time position in medical records at ProHealth at the time of her retirement.
Carrie was fun and playful. Time spent with her was often filled with humor and laughter. She was known for her big heart and generous spirit, and she loved spending time with family. She adored her children and grandchildren. Carrie was also an animal lover with deep connections to her pets.
Carrie was a passionate supporter of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. She loved bowling, playing bingo, doing crafts, and playing cards. She enjoyed going to outdoor festivals, fairs, and concerts. She also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and camping.
She is survived by five siblings, Mary Philips, Rita Banks, Dawn Borgwordt, Mark Huber, and Melvin Huber. She is also survived by her two children Eric Elias (Betsy Anderson) of St. Peter, Minnesota, and Tracie Pinkal (Shane) of Holdrege, Nebraska, and has seven grandchildren Amanda, Hunter, Montana (Jayden), Kaiden, Will, Iris, and June.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the E.B. Shurts Building, 810 W. College Ave., Waukesha 53186. Please dress casually.
