Carol passed away peacefully, reunited with her beloved husband and best friend of 71 years, Bob Meganck, who preceded her in death in November 2025. She is survived by her four children, Susan Meganck, Sharon (Jeff) Watts, Sandra (Greg) Pochowski, and Scott (Erica) Meganck; her eight grandchildren, Bobby, Leigh Ann, Jeffrey, Mark, Michele, David, Hans, and Will; and her two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Caroline.
She is also survived by her brother, John (Rosi) Schaefer, and her sister, Geri (Lee) Barwick. In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, William (Lois) Schaefer, and sister, Mary (Art) Koepke.
Carol was an outgoing and charismatic woman who embraced life and treasured her family and friends. She loved to laugh, enjoyed having fun, and never turned down a martini shared in good company. She found joy in staying active: spending many days enjoying rounds of golf, bowling with friends, and bringing that same lively spirit to the card table. A loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers, she approached every game, whether played or watched, with enthusiasm and good humor.
Carol’s strong Catholic faith was central to her life. She prayed continuously and faithfully, finding comfort, purpose, and guidance in her devotion. Her commitment to the Church was expressed not only through her service, but through the way she lived: with gratitude, discipline, and a deep belief in the power of prayer.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 9:00 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral Mass at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Ave (Hwy SS) Pewaukee, WI 53072. Private entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
