Brett "Bretso" William Knoebel

Brett “Bretso” W. Knoebel of Watertown, formerly of Eagle passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the age of 28. He was born in Waukesha on September 4, 1995, the son of Patrick and Lori (nee DeLano) Knoebel. Brett graduated with honors in 2014 from Palmyra Eagle High School where he was the homecoming king. He was a stellar athlete, an excellent wrestler, winning the wrestling conference championship and was the football team captain. Following high school he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from UW-Stout and worked as an applications engineer at Dynatect in New Berlin. Brett was a man of many talents, excelled at whatever he did, was extremely smart and had a bright future. He loved and dreamed big. He had a huge heart, always stood up for the underdog and would help anyone in need. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and UTVing. Brett cherished his family and friends and was loved by all. He will forever be remembered for his lovable nature, incredible determination, his generous heart and as a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

He will be deeply missed and treasured forever by his loving parents, Patrick and Lori Knoebel, his sister Breanna Knoebel, inevitable fiancée Amber Bonsutto, aunts and uncles, Nancy (Edson) Rodrigues, Debbie (the late Kevin) Craig, Randy DeLano, Pam (Larry) Swenor, Jeff DeLano and Wendy DeLano and his cousins, Larry Swenor, Melissa Swenor, Clayton Long, Jesse Long, Shawn DeLano, Ryan DeLano, Annette Rhode and Becky Long-Lake. He is further survived by many second cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth Knoebel, maternal grandparents, Niles and Josephine DeLano, uncle Robert Knoebel, cousin Joseph Long and his beloved dog Marley Boy who he missed immensely.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at St. Mary Catholic Church 225 S. Hartwell Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186.  A further celebration of Brett’s life will be held in Spring 2024 following a private interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Genesee. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to an organization supporting mental health and addiction awareness or to NAMI Southeast Wisconsin, 2717 N.
