Arlene E. Stanfield

After a long, loving, wonderful, caring, blessed life, at 103 years old, Arlene E. Stanfield (nee Meidenbauer) now shares in God’s Eternal Life, peace and joy. Arlene was born in Waukesha on February 15, 1922 the daughter of William and Laura (nee Goetz) Meidenbauer. She was a 1935 graduate of St. Joseph School and a 1939 graduate of Waukesha High School. Arlene was longtime, active and faithful member of St. Joseph and St. Mary Parishes in Waukesha. She actively participated in numerous church and school activities, including Christian Mothers, the Catholic Study Club, teaching religious education, and singing in the resurrection choir. Arlene was also a devoted member of the Milwaukee Archdiocesan Priests Mothers' Guild, served as a captain at voting polls, and volunteered at the Waukesha Training Center. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Fr. William Stanfield of Milwaukee, Charles (Christine) Stanfield of Brookfield, Susan Stanfield of Waukesha, Stephen (Jackie) Stanfield of Waukesha, Julie (Terrance) Pisarek of Eagle and Joel (Karen) Stanfield of Reno, NV, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and sister Marilyn Leisten. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Stanfield, daughter Beth Stanfield, her parents William and Laura, brother Raymond Meidenbauer, sisters, Lorraine Storck, Marie O’Meara and Elizabeth McGeen, and brother-and sisters-in-law, Robert Stanfield, Lucia Stanfield and Marie McCabe.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of ProHealth Home Hospice for their exceptional care over the past two years, especially to Pam and Rory.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Corpus Christi Parish-St. Mary Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave Waukesha, WI 53186 (corner of Hartwell and Newhall Avenues) from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. The eulogy and funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials to Corpus Christi Parish School (221 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186), Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holy Hill or to the charity of your choice.
