Arlen P. Goodspeed

Arlen P. Goodspeed, age 91, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1934, one of seven children to Percy E. and Maude (nee: Munger) Goodspeed. Arlen served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. On May 18, 1957, he married Ellen Wallenslager. Arlen worked a long career with the Wisconsin Electric Power Company and enjoyed a full life in retirement.

He is sadly missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Ellen Goodspeed, their four children Syndi (Ken) Schlindwein, David (Kimberly Schopf) Goodspeed, Scott (Beth) Goodspeed, Wayne (Trish) Goodspeed; dearest grandpa of Jeff (Samantha), Amanda, Will, Vaughn, Ray, Sean, Kathryn, Thomas and Danielle. He is further survived by his sisters Carolyn and Elita, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lorraine and brothers Orville (“Sam”), Edgar and Rod.

Arlen enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs. He was a tough opponent at the card table and also an avid outdoorsman, and in his retirement years he and Ellen traveled with enjoyment to numerous destinations both in the US and internationally.
