Angie Llanas

Angelina “Angie” Llanas (Sanchez), a longtime Waukesha resident passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born on November 28, 1936, in Brownsville, Texas, the daughter of Alonso and Celia (nee Gomez) Sanchez. On April 16, 1955, she married her husband Walter J. Llanas. After having her 7 children, she worked at WCTC for 30 years as an ESL Instructor. Although she believed she did not have any talents, she was the best mom, child, and sister anyone could ask for and she acquired many invitations from former students around the world. She made the best tortillas and was an avid reader with a unique sense of humor.

She is survived by her children Dan (girlfriend Maureen) Llanas of Waukesha, Anita (Sam) Lindner of Waukesha, Eva (Todd) Mikolajczyk of West Allis, Dude Llanas of Milwaukee, Samuel Llanas of Milwaukee and Rosie (Mario Pacheco) Llanas of Milwaukee. Dear Grandmother of Danny, Rachel, Krystal, James, Amy, Michael, Karl, Russell, Thomas, Jake, Cole, Steven, Olivia, Vincent, Hudson, John, Austin and Samantha. Loving Great Grandmother of Danny, Jacenda, Yovanni, Jayden, Skylar, Bently, Mason, Brooklyn, Raelyn, Jaymus, Desiray, Christian, Adelina, Isabelle, Dylan, Priscilla, Angelina, Socorro and Aurora and Great-Great-Grandmother of Eliana and Marianna. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, son Tomato, parents, brothers Oscar and George Sanchez and sisters Lola Gonzales and Maggie Sanchez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. funeral mass all at Corpus Christi Parish-St. Joseph Church, 822 N. East Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in Angie’s name are appreciated to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 200 Vesey St., 28th Fl., New York, NY 10281.
