Alice J. Ruppel

Alice J. Ruppel of Waukesha passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the age of 86. She was born in McKeesport, PA on February 9, 1940 the daughter of George E. and L. Kathryn (nee Henderson) Burton. Alice was a graduate of Clairton High School and graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College in Pennsylvania and furthered her education at the National School of Aeronautics in Kansas City, MO. On May 25, 1963 she married John G. Ruppel III in Oakmont, PA; he preceded her in death on November 8, 2023

Along with her husband, Alice had a great love for music and enjoyed singing with the Reflections Choir at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church where she was previously a member. She was currently a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha where she was part of the Ladies Guild, active with many Bible Studies and volunteered with the church office. Alice loved sewing, crafts and puzzles and was known for her large collection of penguins. She loved a good Happy Hour and a great Old Fashioned. Most of all she loved her family.

She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Kathy Delikat of Albany and Debbie (Scott) Hayes of Waukesha; and granddaughter Taylor Hayes of Waukesha. She is further survived by her brother John E. Burton (the late Shirley), sister-in-law Joyce Burton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother G. Thomas Burton (Joyce).

Due to construction at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alice’s visitation will take place at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral service. A luncheon and continued fellowship will follow the service and be announced at the service. Memorials in Alice’s name are appreciated to ProHealth Hospice or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
