Alfeo “Al” A. Testolin, Jr. passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at the age of 96. He was born on May 17, 1928 in Waukesha to Alfeo A. Sr. and Inez (nee: Sartori) Testolin. On October 17, 1963 he married the love of his life, Sally F. Dunbar, at St. Bernards in Wauwatosa. Al was a 1946 graduate of Waukesha High School, then earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Carroll College, and was a member of the TKE fraternity. He was a faithful and life-long member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was proud to have been the owner of The Peek-Inn in Waukesha.
Al was a true dynamo. He had his first heart surgery in 1975 and the fact that he lived another 50 years was an amazing feat. He became an avid walker and steadfastly managed his diet. He maximized the time he could spend with his children and eventually his grandkids. Al loved automobiles, racing, his faith, and his country. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Sally F. Testolin, his children Catherine (the late Robert Smigla) Testolin of Milwaukee, Michael Testolin of Milwaukee, and Mary (Christopher) Hesburgh of Wilmette, Illinois, and grandsons Murph and Danny Hesburgh. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Al’s family is grateful and extends special thanks to the healthcare professionals at Heritage Elm Grove and especially the ICU team at Froedtert 7NT who gave comfort and care to Al. Their professionalism, kindness, and compassion will never be forgotten by Al’s family.
