Virginia Dunsirn

February 3, 1943 — June 20, 2019

Virginia Lee Dunsirn “Ginny”
Ginny’s life began on February 3, 1943 born to Carl George Dunsirn and Joyce Margaret Balthazor. She left this world for her heavenly home on June 20, 2019 at the age of 76. While Ginny suffered for years with multiple health issues it was a broken hip that was the eventual cause of her death. Ginny did not want a funeral when she passed and certainly did not want to be eulogized but she lived a life that is certainly worth acknowledging. She was proud to have worked at Harley-Davidson and was a even prouder Harley owner. Ginny spent countless hours with the wind in her hair traveling the backroads of Wisconsin. Retired from UPS, Ginny was a semi-truck driver. She was promoted to a Supervisor who was tasked with training other semi-truck drivers. She was one of the first women to haul a double trailer in Wisconsin. She held her own working in a primarily male dominated profession. Her love for animals led her to adopt many dogs over the years. She loved them and they adored her. Caring for them was everything to her. They were the medicine that kept her going during difficult times in her life. She will be missed by her beloved Lily. Since 2007, Ginny called a 2000 Monaco Diplomat RV her home. She traveled between Wisconsin and Alabama. From Memorial Day through Labor Day you would find her parked behind D&D Automotive Repair in Waukesha. The rest of the year she spent her time at the Birmingham South RV Park. Her many friends included Tammy Johns and Dot Keyes.

“Chic” will be missed by her family. Cindy McBride, her son Brandon (Meredith) and their children Isla and Kai. Charles (Cindy) Ott, their son Doug (Becky) and their children Alyssa and Jenna. Russell (Pat), their son Steve along with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sharon Ott and her children Scott and Debbie. Welcoming her home will be her father Carl George Dunsirn, stepfather Carl Ott and her mother Joyce Balthazor Ott. She will also be reunited with her special friends Rae Ann Hogan and Pat Herman who went before her. There are many friends who will remember Ginny as a generous and kind soul who would help anyone in any way she could. She leaves behind her cherished friends Helen Martin, Sally Sollazo and Mary Helbach.

Ginny spent the last year of her life living with her friends David and Denise Books. Who were honored to be able to call her their friend and keep her safe and comfortable in the final year of her life. Since their will be no service, friends wishing to make a donation in Ginny’s name could do so to any Humane Society. Ginny was a regular donor and was passionate about their cause and the good work they do. Special thanks go to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Seasons Hospice for their care of Ginny in her final days.
