Roy Redford

Roy S. Redford, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 90. He was born on August 1, 1917 in Waukesha to Alvin J. and Hattie (nee: Kalies) Redford. He worked at Waukesha Motor Company until 1941. Following that he proudly served his country, during World War II, in the U.S. Air Force, on Ascension Island until 1945. After the war he attended Carroll College and went on to work at Waukesha State Bank until 1952. He then worked at Husco as a production manager until the 1970's and then worked at Hydrolic Industries in Hartland until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Oconomowoc Golf Club for over 40 years, Air Force Association, D.J. Martin American Legion Post 8 for the past 63 years and Veterans of Foreign Wars Soat-Vergenz Post 721. Roy enjoyed cross country skiing and square dancing. He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee: Siewert) of Waukesha, along with nieces and nephews Brent (Penny) Redford of Pewaukee; James (Kathleen) Harvey of Lexington, KY; Susan Cornette of Texas; Thomas (Paulette) Harvey of LA; Patti Harvey of Bossier City Louisiana; Laura Bratcher of Hooks, TX; Maria (C.T.) Starkey of Lexington, KY; Jeanne (Tim) Stien of Rockton, IL; Jill ("Woody" Michael) Woodford of Hartland and James (Karla) Parry of Hartland. He is further survived by great nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Eldora A. Parry of Hartland, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Howard Redford, nephew Thomas Redford and sisters-in-law Olive M. Harvey and Sonya J. Siewert. Graveside services with full military honors will take place on Saturday, October 27th at 12 noon at Prairie Home Cemetery. Refreshments and fellowship will follow from 1-3 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Memorials may be made to the Women's Center, 505 N.
