Richard Arndt

Of Waukesha, formerly of Lenox, Massachusetts, died October 24, 2007 at the age of 78. He was born on May 29, 1929 the son of August and Maria (nee; Christiansen) Arndt. A former resident of Bay View, he was a graduate of Bay View High School. In 1952 he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison earning a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed with General Electric for 27 years. He then worked for S & C Electric in Chicago and also for RTE/Cooper Power in Pewaukee, WI until his retirement in 1991. After retirement he stayed active and worked as a consultant for many years. He was a member of the Berkshire Hillsman Barbershop Chorus in Lenox, Massachusetts and was a founding member of the Lenox Volunteer Ambulance Squad. He worked on the Governor's council helping develop a law in Massachusetts for disabled children. Richard is lovingly survived by his wife, Cynthia (nee; Cotter) Arndt of Waukesha, formerly of Madison, WI, his five children; Ellen (Richard) Mendel of Lenox Dale, Massachusetts, William of Waukesha, Katherine (William) Birdsall of Milwaukee, David (Dawn Duellman) of Waukesha and Kevin of Milwaukee. His five grandchildren; Rebecca Field of Los Angeles, California, Connor and Jack Birdsall, and Jacob and Matthew Arndt. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Tim (Connie) Cotter of Waunakee, WI along with several nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 3:00PM at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until the 3:00PM Funeral Service at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to The Sierra Club 8112 W.
