Mary Louise Pandl

July 12, 1953 — November 9, 2017

Mary Louise Pandl of Waukesha was born to Eternal life on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her home at the age of 64. She was born in Milwaukee on July 12, 1953 the daughter of Lawrence and Pearl (nee Schueller) Hacker. First and foremost, Mary’s faith was her guiding compass in life. Her relationship with the Lord was enhanced through daily Mass, scripture study and service to others. Mary always put the needs of her family ahead of her own making sure they had what they needed often sacrificing for their sake. She taught her children how to love by her example of loving them and many others. She had a special affection for babies, children and young families, listening to parents and offering words and prayers of insight and support. Many thought of Mary as an adopted mother. Mary was a special education aide for many years in the Waukesha Public Schools. She embraced opportunities to use her gifts of patience, kindness, and encouragement with children dealing with a wide variety of disabilities. It was not uncommon for one of her students to run up and hug her in the grocery store or other location where their paths crossed. An accomplished amateur photographer, Mary chronicled the Pandl family over the years in over 30 albums. She always said her children and grandchildren were the best subjects for her photography. To sum it up, Mary’s love for God was manifested in a tangible love for everyone she came in contact with. She has left an indelible mark in the hearts of everyone who knew her and came to love her.

She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband John of Waukesha and their six beloved children, Michael (Tina) Pandl of Waukesha, Betsy (Joseph) Harbaugh of Rogers, AR, Sarah (Sister M. Teresa) Pandl of Champaign, IL, Ruth (Shane) Gerstl of Wauwatosa, Matthew Pandl of Ann Arbor, MI and Hannah Pandl of Waukesha. She was the treasured “GrandMary” of Abigail, Joshua, Monica, Luke, Elijah Pandl, Olivia, James, George, David and John Harbaugh (baby Mary Felice due in March 2018), Dominic, Jack, Grace and Clara Gerstl. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Paul (Connie) Hacker of McFarland, Nancy (Ronald) Jones of Appleton, Daniel (Carla) Hacker of Madison, Marty (Tina) Hacker of Middleton and Jeanne (Paul) Cargill of Evansville along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
