Mary Valentine Jacob peacefully left us on September 11, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 89. Mary was born on February 14, 1929 in Chicago IL, the daughter of Mary and James Fontana.
Mary will be deeply missed by her loving husband, David Jacob,
their children, Debbie Jones (Bob) of Waukesha, WI, David Jacob (John Kannenberg) of Milwaukee, WI, Cheryl Butendorf (Bob) of Oconomowoc, WI, and Randi Jacob Bellios (Nick) of Evanston, IL.
Mary was an amazing mother, fun loving grandmother and great grandmother. Mary met Dave when they both lived and worked in Chicago and their 68th anniversary would be September 16th of this year. Mary was a loving grandmother to Nikki Jones Fortin (Jeff), Kelly Jones (Mike), Kori Butendorf (MJ), Josh Butendorf, William, Bradley and Ryder Bellios. She was great-grandmother to Jacob, Sam, Brodie and Penelope. She was loved by her dear friends and many nieces and nephews.
She volunteered at many organizations that were dear to her while moving around the country. She worked at Saint Irene’s School in Warrenville, IL and several other schools, churches and organizations along the way. Dave’s job took her to Billings, Montana and then Ogden, Utah, back to Chicago and then finally Wisconsin. During her time with us she touched the lives of all the people who knew her. She made everyone around her feel more than welcome and so very special. Lucky are those who were around for Mary’s legendary, unprecedented Friday night Pizza…never to be replicated!
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Gregory, her brothers, Ralph Fontana (Carol), Jim Fontana (Betty), and her sister Rose (Ed) Bruxer.
The entire staff at AngelsGrace work tirelessly to make it such a very special place. We are forever grateful. In appreciation for the most amazing care and utmost, genuine kindness, memorials in Mary’s name can be made to AngelsGrace Hospice, N74 W35908 Servants’ Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc, WI.
