Joyce Ione Rupp

Our Dear Father called Joyce Ione Rupp (Nee: Thomas) home on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 88. She was born in Waukesha, on October 8, 1930, the daughter of Evan L. Thomas, Jr and Delores Badinger. Joyce was a graduate of Waukesha High School. On July 16, 1949 she married Erwin Rupp in Waukesha. She was an active member of the VFW Post 721 Women’s Auxiliary, working many Friday night fish fry’s with her sister, Evelyn. Joyce was a member of the Military Order of the Cootie, where she volunteered at nursing homes often helping with bingo and other activities. She loved collecting recipes, cooking and being outdoors and will always be remembered as a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Donald Rupp of Pewaukee; James (Colleen) Rupp of Eagle; Janet ( the late Al) Holtz of New Berlin; Doug (Laura) Rupp of Waukesha; Dale (Cheryl) Rupp of Oconomowoc; Darlene Rupp of West Allis; Edward Rupp of Muskego; Debbie (Jay) Lenski of Eagle and Sherry Rupp of Sheboygan Falls. She is the proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Evelyn (the late Bob) Dittmann of Waukesha and by her brother Kenneth (the late Pam) Thomas of Waukesha. She was preceded in death by her husband Erwin on Feb 23, 2004; daughters Donna Jean Rupp and Diane (Ray) Nowak.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until the 6:45 p.m. VFW Ladies Auxiliary service followed by the 7:00 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha. Burial will take place on Friday, October 26 at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joyce’s name are appreciated to AngelsGrace Hospice, N74 W35908 Servants’ Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066, American Stroke Association, 208 S.
