Janet B. Kuhne

Janet Kuhne, of New Berlin, found peace on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Elmbrook Hospital at the age of 93. She was born on August 11, 1925, in Funkley, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (nee Anderson) Bowman. She was a graduate of St. John’s Nursing School in Fargo, ND and received her bachelor’s degree in 1947 from the University of Colorado in Physical Therapy. She had been the director of Physical Therapy at Sacred Heart and St. Anthony Hospitals, retiring in 1987. On December 27, 1952 she married Moritz “Harold” Kuhne at Trinity Episcopal Church in Prescott, AZ. Janet was a longtime member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church, former member of the New Berlin Seniors, member of the Rebecca Circle and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

She will be sadly missed by her children Kay Ellen (Lyle) Haddenham of Waukesha, Georganne (Brian) Prom of Big Bend, Kurt (Cheryl) Kuhne of Mukwonago and Eric (Ann) Kuhne of New Berlin. Proud grandmother of Saeed and Sami Salem, Jessica (Dan) Freund, Sean, Jacob, Alison, Nicholas and Andrea Kuhne, Rachael (Dan) Bertzyk, Natalie Bell and Nicholas Prom. She is further survived by her sister Audrey Stein of Bemidji, MN, brother George Bowman of Black Duck, MN, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold on October 14, 2011, sisters Harriet Granbeck and Delphie Nance as well as her parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9 from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. memorial Mass at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St. Waukesha, WI 53186. Interment will follow the service at the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janet’s name are appreciated to the St. Matthias Episcopal Church (address above).
