James C. Walton, of Waukesha, WI formerly of Bushnell, Illinois and Green Valley, Arizona, died on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the age of 87. He was born in Naperville, IL on November 22, 1920 the son of Arthur and Isyl (nee Spiker) Walton. James served in the US Marines Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theater. On July 16, 1950 he married Betty Nowlen in Sycamore, IL. He graduated from Iowa State University in Agricultural Economics. He did graduate work at the University of Illinois and he became employed by the Farmers and Merchant State Bank in Bushnell, IL in 1949 where he worked until he retired in 1984. During that time he served his community and the farmers of the area whom he greatly admired. He and his wife Betty vacationed for over 50 years at their cabin near Crystal Lake, MI. The last 20 years was split between their home in Green Valley, AZ and their cabin in Michigan. He was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Waukesha. James will be deeply missed by his loving wife Betty of Waukesha, his children: Betsy (Dave) Knutson of Maplewood, MN, John (June) Walton of El Paso, Texas, Barbara (Dave) Patterson of Stoughton, and Elaine Walton of Racine, grandchildren, Kelsey Knutson, Connor Knutson, Claire Walton, Arthur Walton, Mariah Walton, Rory Walton, Jennifer Patterson, Adam (Kim) Patterson, and James (Lindsay Johnson) Patterson, great-grandchildren: Chase, Adam James, McKenzie, Lexi and Lennon, brothers: Robert (Elsie) Walton and Richard (Elizabeth) Walton. He is further survived by brother in laws, James (Dora) Nowlan and Charles (June) Nowlan , along with other relatives and friends. A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 2:00PM at Avalon Square, 222 Park Place Waukesha, WI 53186.
